Zinc is a cofactor of more than 300 proteins, for example enzymes that protect mitochondria and cells from damage caused by free radicals and the consequences of oxidative stress, enzymes involved in protein synthesis, the immune system and much more. It is required for insulin to be effective and for fertility.

Proteins containing zinc (known as zinc finger proteins) link to the DNA and affect the way it is read and reproduced. A zinc deficit can therefore cause various symptoms, even unspecific ones.

In Zink ^II mse, the essential trace element is bound in the freshwater algae Spirulina platensis. This organic compound is especially useful to prevent a zinc deficit and for long term use. Moreover, this preparation additionally contains all the valuable substances of the algae and can be used by people with thyroid problems because due to its origins, it contains little iodine.
